In 1996, a cross-section of stakeholders came together in Pittsburgh for the very first federally cosponsored National Brownfields Training Conference. Now more than two decades later, Brownfields 2017 is coming back to the city where the cleanup and redevelopment movement started.
With the session selection process completed, Brownfields 2017 is set to offer attendees a robust and expansive conference experience. Featuring dozens of educational sessions and mobile workshops, Brownfields 2017 will include many components that showcase the Steel City and redevelopment in the surrounding region. The exceptional training offered by the conference will challenge both emerging and seasoned professionals as well as a diverse range of brownfields stakeholders to think outside the norms when addressing land revitalization and redevelopment. This year's conference programming and speakers will engage attendees on topics at the forefront of today's brownfields and economic development landscapes; providing opportunities to examine environmental justice, engaging the community, building strategic partnerships, technology and innovation, overcoming challenges, and more!
